Objectifs / Objectifs :

Give the students a level of knowledge (in the language, literature, civilization and linguistics), general culture and methodology that will allow them to sit for the CAPES Occitan-Oc language, and/or to prepare a "Lettres, Langues, Arts Master", with "mention "Lettres, Spécialité Langue, Littérature et Civilisation Occitanes", then the Occitan Studies Doctorate.

The accent will therefore be put on basic training in the speciality subjects: the Oc language (practice, written and oral), Occitan civilization (Oc language literature, history and geography of the Oc country), Occitan linguistics and dialectology, in accordance to the programmes defined by the decree of April 30th 1997 (B.O. of May 8th 1997).

The optional subjects, either, corresponding to the possible different second valencies of the CAPES Occitan-Oc language (Modern Literature, Spanish, English, History, Geography),
or preparing research on the Oc language or on the language contact (Language sciences, Italian).

This course is a one year course at the UNSA. It constitutes the 5th and 6th semesters of a Licence course. Students, holders of a Occitan DEUG, or students who have passed the 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th semesters of a "Lettres, Langues et Science Humaines" Licence and have reached, in the optional subject, the 4th level of the semester in 'Language and Oc Culture' (level 2").
Licence course is particularly recommended for a re-orientation in 3rd year towards this course: HISTORY-LITERATURE COURSE (see the History or Modern Literature Departments), or else ROMAN LITERATURE AND LANGUAGE COURSES (see the Modern Literature and Roman Languages Departments).
The holders of diplomas in the Oc language (for example University diploma) but with no DEUG may ask for the validation of professional assets (for example: Teaching Diploma).

- Teacher-researcher at the university in language, literature, or Oc civilization.
- Certified professor in Occitan-Oc language
- School Professor practicing the initiation to the OC language and culture.
- Cultural departments of territorial communities.
- Professions dealing with the national heritage, cultural tourism, publishing or the regional media.
